After thorough mechanical cleaning of the pool, washing, descaling, and disinfection are recommended, as well as preliminary control of the freshly added water.
Washing and descaling can be done manually or mechanically – using pressure washers or so-called "foam units." We consider this method to be the most efficient and economical.
Recommended agents for the individual phases of cleaning and disinfection:
– For manual washing and descaling – the agent "Lactochem SK." It is used undiluted, applied directly. After 10–15 minutes of action, rinse the surfaces.
– For machine washing and descaling – "Acidopen." It is used according to the equipment manufacturer's recommendations, or in consultation with Hemodom experts.
– For combined treatment, washing, descaling, and disinfection – the agent "Akvalit." The agent is used diluted (2%) and left to act for 15–20 minutes after application.
Before refilling the pool, thorough rinsing with water is necessary.
Procedure with freshly added water
Before adding any disinfectant or algaecide to the water, either during the first filling of the pool or later during use, it is mandatory to measure the water's pH value (using suitable pH paper or one of the standard pH testing kits). The ideal pH value is between 7.1 and 7.4. pH correction is done with a “pH +” or “pH –” corrector. A higher pH value causes eye irritation (burning), itching, and redness of the skin. This is usually a result of excessive use of substandard chlorine products. Also, descaling occurs (when pH > 7.6), which manifests as white deposits on equipment, walls, and the bottom of the pool. When the pH value is below 7, there is no risk to human skin, but corrosion of metal parts of the pool equipment (pipe constructions, pump and filter parts) can occur. It is recommended to correct the water pH to the desired range (7.1 – 7.4) with a suitable pH corrector before adding algaecide or chlorine product. pH control should be done daily during the first few days of the pool filling, then once a week. Freshly filled water should be disinfected immediately, and reinfection of the water and algae growth should be prevented. Disinfection should be performed using Hemosept. The dosage is 2 g/m³.3.
